Ali Mahmoud Bayoumi joined
the Shalalat Group in 2006 , bringing more than 30 years experience in his private
office. He is currently a professor of architecture in the University of
Alexandria, as well as Beirut university from 1998 – 2001. He received
his Bachelor of Architecture 1979 and Master of Architecture 1985 and
Ph.D. 1993 with honorable mentions from Alexandria
University. Currently, his professional and civic involvements include
membership in the Egyptian Institute of Architects, Engineering
Syndicate, and the Union of International Architects U.I.A.
As a design partner, Mr. Bayoumi's experience has included a wide range of extraordinary projects
- from master planning, institutional projects, large scale mixed use
complexes to cultural centers. This wide range of expertise has
provided a unique all-encompassing vision to design.
Recent experience includes
notable residential projects such as Borg el Arab residential compound,
Alexandria. ; Bella Donna Hotel ( Club Mediterranean Hotel) in
association with Mohamed Awad, Ph.D., ; Masjid Abouel Abbas Complex;
Odessa City Planning, Ukraine, USSR, in association with UIA workshop.
Mr. Bayoumi received several
awards; Islamic center, kabary, first prize; Children park, Ramadan
city, second prize; Abouel Abbas religious complex, Alexandria, second
prize; Deer park, Montaza, Alexandria, second prize; Museum of Modern
Arts, Cairo, Honorable mention; Children Library, Cairo, Honorable
mention.
Additionally, Mr. Bayoumi
has had considerable experience designing numerous significant art work
and sculptures, as well as paintings. His most notable projects
includes main squares in Alexandria, Jeddah, Dubai.
Mr. Bayoumi has published
several researches and books such as "Architectural Values and
sculptural art", published by Darel Rateb, Beirut. And researches with
the development team of the UNDP, about Rashid City.
His work and articles has
been published in several local and international papers and magazines.
He is
also an
architectural consultant for the Alexandria and Behira Governorate.

Mr.
Habbak, a principal of “The Shalalat group”, and an associate member of
the American Institute of Architects, the Egyptian Syndicate of
Engineers, served at the Engineering Committee of Sporting Club and an honorary
member of the "Society of Egyptian Architects"
In
1987 he received a Master degree in architecture from the University of
Southern California, Los Angeles. He also holds a Bachelor degree in
Architecture from the University of Alexandria.
Mr.
Habbak was a consultant to several architectural firms in the United
States and Egypt for his vast experience in construction and talent in
design. He also served in
the Egyptian Navy on national architectural projects.
He
conducted several studies concerning urban evolution of different
cities. And participated in the book “ City Plans & Places”.
He
has been involved with the Los Angeles City Redevelopment Agency in the
study of the Broadway street development as well as participating in the
preparation of the Alexandria 2005 master plan.
Mr.
Habbak received a first prize award in an international architectural
competition for the design of the “library in Alexandria”.
Interviewed on national television and major International newspaper
both in Egypt and the United States.
He also received several awards in photography, including a
national award from the A.I.A “American
Institute of Architects”.

Architecture, Alexandria University, Egypt. And in 1982 his Bachelor of Architecture, Alexandria University, Egypt
In 2001 served
as an
Adjunct Assistant Professor - Howard University, School of
Architecture & Planning, Washington D.C., USA.
Hi is a Member
of the Egyptian Architecture Union, Registered Architect No. 4349/6
Member
of the Egyptian Engineering Syndicate. Registered Consultant Engineer

Mr.
Sadek, an associate partner at Shalalat group, and a principal of the Madison office in Wisconsin, USA “Pure
World Architects, Inc.”, and an International Associate member of
the American Institute of Architects, the Egyptian Syndicate of
Engineers, and a license professional Engineer in the State of
Wisconsin.
In 1994 he received a Master
degree in Construction Management from the University of Wisconsin,
Madison, USA. He also holds a Bachelor degree in Architecture from the
University of Cairo, Egypt.
Mr Sadek has Over 28 years of
national and international experience in construction industry
including: architectural design, civil engineering, interior design,
construction management, contract administration, specification writing,
planning and scheduling, cost estimating, budgeting, computer graphics
and programming, inspection, facilities and infra structure assessment,
remodeling, and Operation and Maintenance (OM). Two years experience in
construction management research, (VE) value engineering,
constructability, (TQM) total quality management, and operability and
maintainability
Mr. Sadek was the chief architect
for the State of Wisconsin – DOC for five years.
Mr Sadek was honored on 2005 with
the audience’s “Most Outstanding Contributor” for his Design/Build
seminar for the Jack Miller Network. Although a first-time speaker with
the network, Ashraf impressed the audience with his 4 hour presentation
about Design/Build, an increasingly popular project delivery method.
Founded in 1987, the Jack Miller
Network is a unique group of professional contractors that has grown to
over 600 member firms in 49 states and Canada, representing an annual
construction volume of over $20 billion dollars. Members gather formally
twice a year to practice “win-win sharing” of their experiences,
technical knowledge.

Melissa
Destree, AIA, IIDA
Associate
Architect/Interior Designer
Ms. Destree
joined the international firm of Flad & Associates as a designer in
1994-1998.
And an
associate partner with "The Shalalat Group" In the USA office. She
developed a keen ability to work with large complex teams on intricate
research and development projects. In 1998, she made a move to Kahler
Slater Architects, there focusing on large scale corporate, mixed-use
and healthcare projects.
Melissa is an
active member of the American Institute of Architects since 1994. She
chaired the 2002 AIA-Wisconsin State Convention and was a 2005-2006
member of the AIA-Wisconsin Board of Directors. She is a guest lecturer
at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Professional Mentor at
the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture in Spring Green, WI. Ms.
Destree’s work has been featured in Architect Magazine, Signature
Kitchens & Baths, Wisconsin Architect, Wisconsin Builder, and the
Wisconsin State Journal.
